Schwerin Castle & City of Dukes (Germany)

After scenic bus ride, we boarded ferry on one of seven main lakes

Famous Schwerin Castle in City of Dukes and Grand Dukes

We toured magnificent throne room, library, rooms with unique woodworks

Skyline of historic Mecklenburg capital, the smallest German state capital

More inlay patterns (photos were not allowed!)

Floors of exquisite wood inlays predominate the castle's rooms

As we were departing, a German dance group entertained us

The costumes were traditional German dance attire

Castle is located along Schlosstrasse on one side, lake on other side

As we strolled toward the town, we passed the government buildings

A church bazaar was happening in the town's cobbled square

Children were playing games, hitting the rings to knock them off the wire

Many weddings here on a Saturday - unique transportation to the church!

Apparently, Schwerin loves their painted rhinoceroses!

Tidy City Center with many souvenir and pastry shops

Facade of this museum was playful!
